A.H. Riise XO 1888 is a heavily sweetened rum bottled by the Danish house A.H. Riise, built around molasses spirit from the Virgin Islands and aged in ex-bourbon oak. The copy will be honest about what it is: this is a liqueur-like, dessert-style rum rather than a dry, spirit-forward one.
The profile is dominated by sweetness, with peach, candied orange and honey over a soft, almost syrupy texture, fruity and warm into a sweet finish.
