Hawara Kirsch-Likör

A cherry liqueur from Hawara, an Austrian brand whose name is Viennese for friend, made by Schani Beverage with natural ingredients in the traditional macerated style of fruit liqueurs. Amarena cherries take the lead here, giving the liqueur its defining fruit. At 20% it sits squarely in the fruit liqueur range, balanced for both sipping and mixing, which makes it a flexible cherry option behind a bar.

The nose is sweet and fruity with ripe cherry, the palate sweet with a pleasant acidity and clear ripe Amarena cherry, finishing long on the palate. In a drink it brings deep cherry fruit, colour and a balancing acidity that keeps sweetness in check, so it works in a cherry sour, a whisky and cherry build, a Manhattan variation or a fruity long drink. It also pours neat as an after dinner measure. Suitable for drinking straight as well as for use in cocktails and mixed drinks. Serve chilled or over ice to sharpen the cherry.
