Skinos Mastiha Spirit

Skinos Mastiha Spirit is a Greek liqueur made from the resin of the mastic tree, Pistacia lentiscus, which grows on the island of Chios. The resin, long known as the tears of Chios, carries a clean aromatic freshness and a gentle resinous note that gives the bottle its character. Skinos presents it in a modern, restrained form at 30%, mild on the palate while keeping the resin and herb signature clear.

The nose is fresh and herbal with subtle sweetness and resinous nuances of pine, eucalyptus and citrus, the palate soft, slightly sweet and refreshing, the finish long and gently spicy with a citrus and herbal lift. Traditionally it is served ice cold and neat as a digestif, which keeps its aromatics tight. In a mix it brings a resinous, pine and eucalyptus freshness that few other bottles offer, useful for giving a herbal spritz or a tonic long drink an unusual aromatic backbone. A Mastiha Spritz with tonic is the natural starting point.
