Villa Massa Limoncello

Villa Massa Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur from Villa Massa, a Sorrento house on the Amalfi Coast and one of the better known limoncello producers. It is made only with the famed Sorrento lemons, IGP certified and prized for their intense aroma and freshness, and follows a family recipe in which the lemon peel is macerated in alcohol to draw out the essential oils. The liqueur is bottled at 30% ABV in a one litre format.

The nose is fresh and intense with ripe lemon peel, fine essential oils and a light hint of herbs, the palate sweet, fruity and refreshing with full lemon flavour and a fine balance of sweetness and acidity, and the finish long and slightly creamy with citrus freshness. Behind the bar it brings bright acidity, zesty aroma and sweetness in one pour, which makes it the base of a Limoncello Spritz with Prosecco, a citrus lift in a sour, or a fresh modifier wherever a drink wants lemon. It is traditionally served ice cold as a digestif. Keep it in the fridge and pour it straight from cold.
