Alta Azul Tequila Reposado

Alta Azul Reposado takes the brand's Los Altos Blue Weber agave and rests it in American oak barrels, adding a layer of complexity over the clear blanco. The highland origin in Jalisco, with its red clay and altitude, leans toward sweeter, rounder, more mineral agave, and this reposado sits at the light and gentle end rather than the bold, assertive side of the category.

The oak influence is restrained. The aroma brings typical vanilla and caramel with a light oak spice set against the natural sweetness of the cooked agave. On the palate a sweet base carries clear cooked agave and honey, with the short rest in oak adding fine touches of vanilla and a hint of caramel. Bottled at 38%, it stays soft and accommodating, equally at home sipped neat or as the backbone of a Margarita or Paloma.
