El Destilador Tequila Reposado

El Destilador is the no nonsense cocktail tequila of Corporativo Destileria Santa Lucia in Tesistán, Jalisco, just outside Guadalajara, a company founded in 1940 that built this 100% agave brand for the bar and cocktail market in only the Blanco and Reposado styles. The reposado is rested in oak to add a light woody note over a straightforward, reliable agave base.

The distillery sets itself apart with a triple distillation, unusual in tequila and more often associated with costlier houses, which lends the spirit a cleaner, lighter feel. Expect traditional agave aromatics with a little pepper and an unexpectedly fruity lift, then a flavour of baked agave that is full, hearty and fresh. Bottled at 40% from Blue Weber agave, it is a dependable rested tequila that holds its own in a margarita or a long drink.
