Description
El Destilador is the no nonsense blanco of Corporativo Destileria Santa Lucia, made in Tesistan, Jalisco, a little outside Guadalajara at a company founded in 1940. It is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila built to be straightforward, traditional and reliable, made only in blanco and reposado and aimed squarely at the bar and cocktail trade.
Its quiet distinction is triple distillation, unusual in tequila and more often seen on dearer names, which lends a cleaner edge while keeping the agave core. The nose is traditional agave, a touch leaner and more mineral, and the palate runs baked agave, pepper and citrus, rich and fresh. At 40% and 100% agave it carries enough weight for longdrinks and cocktails without losing its agave character.
