Juniper leads with real conviction, trailed by the tingle of Sichuan pepper, fresh herbs and a soft floral lift. Made in the Loue Valley and finished by macerating hand-picked flower petals, it even blushes rosé when tonic is added. Spicy, floral and faintly adventurous.
Description
Le Loutron Libre distils in Mouthier-Haute-Pierre, deep in the Loue Valley, where clear spring water and wild flora set the tone. La Bonne Aventure is built around assertive juniper, Sichuan pepper, local herbs and lemon balm, but its signature flourish comes after distillation: a maceration with hand-picked flower petals that lends both aromatic depth and a delicate rosé tint when the gin meets tonic. It is a London Dry with a wanderer's streak, true to its name.
The nose is fresh, floral and spicy, juniper meeting citrus, pepper and fine herbs. The palate is complex and round, dominant juniper laced with tingling Sichuan pepper, fresh herbs and a hint of blossom, closing long with floral freshness and a fine spice. Build it into a gin and tonic with a light premium tonic and a slice of grapefruit or a single flower petal to finish.
