Description

Ginstr is made by Stuttgart Distillers in the heart of Swabia, a gin proudly tied to its region. The makers lean on local botanicals alongside the classics, pairing juniper with grapefruit and lime and a set of herbs and spices drawn from the surrounding countryside. That sense of place won it the Gin & Tonic Trophy at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in London in 2018.

The nose is fresh and citrusy, juniper clear beneath subtle herbal and spicy notes. The palate is strong and balanced, a distinctive citrus charge rounded by juniper and a gentle herbal warmth, before a long, dry finish with a lingering tang of grapefruit. Pour with a slightly bitter tonic to play against the citrus, or stir it firmly into a Negroni.
