LMDW Foursquare Fireworks Collection No. 21 2015

La Maison du Whisky's Fireworks Collection has selected this 2015 Foursquare as a single cask, number 21 in the series, drawing on the Barbados distillery celebrated for its no-additives, island-aged style. Bottled at 46 percent and unsweetened, it offers a single-cask view of Foursquare at nine years.

The nose is fresh with smoky, vegetal and fruity notes, an unusually savoury opening for the distillery, while the palate turns to chocolate, roasted notes, fruit and citrus. The finish brings dried fruit, pepper and caramel with a sweet edge from the cask alone. Distilled from molasses on Foursquare's pot and column stills and matured in ex-bourbon oak, it is dry and additive-free, showing a fresher, more herbal side of the distillery alongside its familiar chocolate and caramel. A balanced, characterful Bajan single cask at a strength that keeps it eminently drinkable.
