Description

A Barbados molasses rum from Sun Juice, made in an easy, crowd pleasing style and aimed squarely at casual drinking. With no age statement and a soft 40.2%, it sits at the accessible, sweet end of the island's output, closer to a dessert rum than a dry sipper.

The profile is plainly sugary: demerara sugar, banana and tropical fruit on the nose, coconut, vanilla and sweetness on the palate, and a fruity, coconut led finish with a diluted, short feel. This is openly a sweet, pastry leaning rum, best taken as a simple party pour or mixer rather than a complex sipping rum, and honest about leaning on sweetness for its appeal. Smooth and undemanding, with the dry Bajan backbone set well aside.
