Clarendon Monymusk Plantation Classic Gold 2018

Clarendon is one of Jamaica's workhorse estates, running both pot and column stills and supplying the Monymusk brand. This Classic Gold carries a 2018 vintage and five years of maturation in ex-bourbon casks, bottled by the distillery itself at a soft 40%.

No formal tasting notes are published for this release. At gold strength and relatively young, expect a gentler reading of Clarendon than the high-ester pot still marques chased by independents, with the ex-bourbon oak lending light vanilla, sweet wood and orange peel over the estate's underlying tropical fruit. It reads as an approachable everyday Jamaican rather than a funk-driven sipper.
