Lebensstern Rum is a 15 year old Panamanian ron bottled under a German label, built on molasses in the soft Spanish style. Panama is known for mellow, vanilla-led rum drawn largely from the Varela Hermanos stills.

With a stated fifteen years in ex-bourbon oak, this should show the vanilla, caramel and light oak spice typical of long bourbon-cask ageing over a clean base spirit. Bottled at a firmer 47.4%, it carries more weight than the standard 40% Panamanian rons while staying approachable. Added sugar is not disclosed, so expect a smooth, barrel-driven character with a little extra grip from the higher strength.
