Description
Clarendon Kill Devil 2007 is a single cask Jamaican pot still rum distilled at Clarendon in 2007 and bottled at 14 years old by Hunter Laing for its Kill Devil label. Clarendon is a workhorse Clarendon-parish distillery running both pot and column stills, and its pot still marks can be very funky, so expect robust tropical fruit and spice with the solvent edge typical of the island.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at cask strength, 67.2%, this is a concentrated, full-proof pour in the natural Kill Devil style, non-chill-filtered with nothing added. The high strength carries plenty of ester intensity and oak, rewarding a drop of water to open the fruit.
