The nose carries caramel, vanilla and a herbal, anise edge, while the palate turns sweet with dried fruit, fudge and citrus, finishing creamy with young wood, raisin and vanilla. Reviewers are mixed, with one finding the alcohol integration harsh and the body watery for what it aims to be, and another noting a light, fruity, lightly chocolatey character with cherry and a touch of polish that is interesting for a Panama. Because it carries no added sugar, it shows the spirit honestly, including a lighter body, a citrus and anise inflected Panama for drinkers who prefer their rum dry and unembellished.
