Description
La Favorite is a family-run Martinique distillery, and Brut 2 Colonnes is its raw, full-power blanc, a 2020 release pressed from fresh cane juice and bottled unsweetened under the AOC at a towering 73.4%. This is cane juice at its most uncompromising, aimed at experienced palates who relish high-proof whites.
Distilled on creole columns kept low to hold the grassy, vegetal cane congeners, it delivers intense sugarcane, floral and lime on the nose, a vegetal, fiery palate, and an earthy, vegetal finish carrying a clear natural sweetness from the cane. Given time to rest in the glass, the heat settles and it turns deceptively fruity and well balanced. Best in a ti' punch where the proof and cane do their work, or slow sipped with respect.
