Dzama Ambre comes from one of Madagascar's best known distilleries, an island producer with its own house character that sits outside the Caribbean mainstream. Bottled without an age statement at 37.5%, it is an amber styled rum aimed at easy drinking rather than cask strength intensity.

The profile is unusual, woody and earthy with leather and a distinctly dusty, musty quality, opening on caramel and toffee before drifting toward a walnut and musty finish. A touch of added sweetness rounds the body, and the spirit reads soft and slightly thin at this strength, which keeps it gentle but limits depth.
