De Pirathas Black Spiced

De Pirathas Black Spiced is a flavoured rum from the Dominican Republic, built on column-distilled molasses spirit and dressed with added spice. It is honestly a sweetened, flavour-led bottling rather than a dry aged sipper, so it belongs in the spiced category alongside vanilla and warm baking notes.

At a low 35% it is soft and easy, designed for cola, ginger beer and dark spiced cocktails as much as neat sipping. Expect sweetness, vanilla and dessert spice to lead. This is a fun, mixable spiced rum, and it is best approached on those terms rather than as a traditional aged ron.
