Neisson Tatanka La Coupeuse

Neisson is a small, family-run Martinique distillery founded in 1931 and a longstanding favourite among agricole drinkers. This Tatanka La Coupeuse is a blanc, distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice on a column still in the island's AOC tradition and bottled unsweetened.

The profile is pure cane-juice agricole at its most direct: sugar-cane sap and fresh-cut grass on the nose, a grassy, sappy palate and a clean green finish, with a little alcoholic warmth from the proof. At a firm 50% it has the strength that suits a good blanc, concentrated and vivid rather than soft. This is the antidote to sweet rum, dry, herbaceous and snappy, and it is built for the classic Ti Punch where lime and a touch of cane syrup let the fresh agricole character sing.
