Isautier Arrangé Letchi Passion

Isautier is one of Reunion's oldest family distilleries, and this Arrange Letchi Passion is a flavoured rum rather than a straight agricole, a molasses-based spirit infused with lychee and passion fruit in the island's arrange tradition. It is honest about what it is: a fruit-steeped rum made for easy drinking and mixing, not a dry sipper.

The aromatics are emphatic, dominated by lychee and passion fruit with broader tropical-fruit sweetness, but the palate turns notably tart, the passion fruit bringing a real sourness that carries into a faintly bitter finish. Bottled at 40%, it leans more sharp than candied, which keeps it lively but means it could take a touch more sweetness for sipping straight. It comes into its own in long drinks and tropical cocktails, where its tang lifts the glass.
