A 2001 vintage ReimonenQ from Guadeloupe at a gentle 42%, soft and gourmand with sweet agricole cane, vanilla, cinnamon and orange leading into pastry, licorice and a dried fruit, woody finish.
Description
ReimonenQ Cuvee Quintessence 2001 is an aged agricole from the ReimonenQ distillery in Guadeloupe, working under the island's IGP. Distilled from fresh sugarcane juice on a column still and bottled at a soft 42%, this vintage shows the gentler, more rounded side of aged cane juice rum.
Age and a low proof make it approachable and dessert leaning. The nose is sweet toned with agricole cane, vanilla and cinnamon, the palate moves through pastry, licorice, orange and wood, and the finish carries caramel and dried fruit. The wood is well integrated and the light fruit and maturity sit in easy balance rather than asserting heat or grass. A polished, gourmand aged agricole for drinkers who like older Guadeloupe cane rum with a smooth, spice and fruit profile, best sipped neat.
