Clarendon Platinum White Rum

Clarendon Platinum White Rum is an unaged pot-still white bottled by the distillery itself, drawing on the central Jamaican site that runs both pot and column. Presented clear and at a gentle 40%, it is built as a versatile, mixable spirit rather than a sipping rum.

The nose is fruity with a sweet edge, and the palate turns dry and peppery, the pot-still origin lending a little more character than a typical neutral white. Bottled without added sugar, it is clean and uncomplicated, the kind of white rum made for longdrinks, daiquiris and cocktails where it brings a touch of Jamaican fruitiness without dominating. It does not pretend to the depth of an aged expression, and on its own terms as a mixing white it does the job, an easy, dry base with just enough island personality to lift a simple drink.
