Twelve Whisky d’Aubrac Rhum Rare Guyana & Jamaica

This overproof rum marries two of the great molasses traditions, the dark, heavy Demerara of Guyana and the high-ester pot still rum of Jamaica, bottled at a hefty 63.5% by the French house Twelve Whisky d'Aubrac. The blend is built for power and contrast, pairing Guyana's roasted depth with Jamaica's funky tropical lift.

At this strength it lands with intensity. The nose moves through tropical fruit, ester funk, barrel and dark chocolate, while the palate turns dark and chewy with roasted molasses, cocoa, coffee, honey, leather and a thread of overripe fruit, finishing peppery, tannic and roasted. The Demerara side lends the dark, char-edged backbone; the Jamaican side brings the fruit and funk. This is a bold, characterful blend for experienced palates who already enjoy dark Demerara and medium-ester Jamaica and want both turned up at full proof. Best with air and a slow glass, or a few drops of water.
