This PMG Blanc is an unaged cane-juice rhum from Bielle on Marie-Galante, bottled by Velier in its unsweetened, full-proof style. Marie-Galante blancs are traditionally bottled at higher strength, and at 56% this one keeps that local custom while showing the raw cane character with nothing added and no time in wood to soften it.

With no ageing, this is pure expression of fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, the vegetal, grassy core that defines the style. The nose is fresh and floral with sugarcane and a vegetal lift, and the palate carries sugarcane, green herbs and lemon with a distinctive salty, nutty edge, staying fresh and dry through the finish. Despite the strength the spirit is clean and surprisingly drinkable.
