Neisson L‘Esprit De Neisson

Neisson is a small family distillery on Martinique, the island that holds the world's only rum AOC, with its cane juice rules, creole column distillation and ban on added sugar. This unaged blanc is bottled at full column strength, brut de colonne, a muscular 70 percent that puts the raw cane character front and centre.

Distilling low on a creole column leaves the grassy, vegetal congeners in the spirit instead of stripping them out, which is why agricole blanc tastes the way it does. The nose is fresh cut sugarcane, citrus and green vegetal notes, the palate is intense and oily with sugarcane sap and lime, and the finish runs herbal, fresh and warm. Powerful as it is, it stays clean and balanced, a white agricole to sip well chilled by those who know the style, or to build a bright Ti Punch around.
