Description
La Favorite is a respected family distillery in Fort-de-France, and this La Cuvee, selected by Les Freres de la Cote, captures its fresh, lively blanc at full strength. Distilled on a column still from fresh sugar-cane juice and bottled unaged and unsweetened at a cask-strength 50.3%, it keeps all the snap of young Martinique agricole.
The nose is bright with sugarcane, pepper, citrus and a vegetal edge; the palate stays on fresh cane with vanilla, peppery spice and florals; the finish is vegetal, peppery, warm and lightly buttery. The higher proof concentrates the cane character without turning harsh, and tasters single it out as strong value for a blanc of this quality. It is fresh, young and unmistakably agricole, excellent neat for those who like intensity and outstanding in a Ti Punch, where its peppery cane core stands up to lime and syrup.
