Bottled at a soft 40%, it sits squarely in the easy, sweet end of the category, aimed at newcomers and anyone who enjoys the Malibu style of coconut spirit but wants the fruit turned up.

The column still keeps the base light and clean, which lets the added coconut and candied orange dominate from first sniff through to the finish, backed by vanilla and a frankly syrupy sweetness. There is little of the dry oak or funk that defines classic rum here, so it reads more like a chilled dessert liqueur than a contemplative dram. Served over plenty of ice or stirred into simple mixed drinks, it does what it sets out to do, while sweetness alone will keep purists at arm's length.
