Description
Saint James has distilled in Martinique since 1765, and this Cuvee 250th Anniversary celebrates that history by blending agricole rums laid down across a span of more than a hundred years. As an AOC Martinique rum it is made entirely from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice with no added sugar, distilled on a column still in the island style.
Bottled at 43%, it leans elegant and contemplative rather than powerful, with vanilla, tropical and dried fruit on the nose and a palate of vanilla, raisin and orange peel woven around the classic cane-juice core. The finish is soft, sweet-edged and vanilla-laced. This is a gentle, finesse-driven agricole and something of a collector's piece, best enjoyed slowly by drinkers who value balance and history over intensity.
