Trois Rivières 12 Years Old

Trois Rivieres is a Martinique estate with rum history going back more than a century, now distilled at the La Mauny site, and this is its twelve year old, carrying the AOC. Distilled from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice with no added sugar, it shows what a dozen years of tropical ageing brings to agricole.

The creole-column spirit has been shaped by long ex-bourbon maturation into a dry, oak-led profile, with vanilla, honeyed spice, ginger and dried fruit over a clean cane base. The palate is spice and oak forward, the finish carrying citrus, herbs and red fruit, drier and more savoury than a sweet molasses aged rum. At 42% it stays soft and approachable, complex enough to reward attention yet easy enough for regular drinking. A balanced introduction to serious aged agricole, equally happy as a daily neat pour or alongside a cigar.
