Description
Licorera Cihuatan Nahual Legacy Blend is a limited edition from the Cihuatan distillery in El Salvador, a country whose rums have drawn growing attention for their distinctive character. At fourteen years and 47.5 percent it is a Spanish style sipper that leans sweet to balanced, offering a touch more strength than the softest bottles in the category. It is often regarded as one of Cihuatan's strongest releases.
Blended from molasses rum off both pot and column stills and matured in ex bourbon wood, it pours creamy caramel, marzipan, honey, roasted nuts and vanilla, with cinnamon and gentle wood on the palate and a medium finish of vanilla, liquorice and roasted almonds. The profile reads like dulce de leche with salted caramel and cashew, rich and dessert leaning without overwhelming heat. The slightly higher strength gives it a bit more backbone than typical Spanish style rums. It suits drinkers who enjoy sweeter, nutty profiles and want a comforting daily sipper with a little extra depth.
