A cask strength 2006 Trois Rivieres aged nine years, turning the distillery’s dry, woody Martinique DNA up to full power, with fresh cane, humid oak, vanilla and peppery spice over orchard and tropical fruit.
Description
This single cask 2006 vintage from Trois Rivieres is a nine year aged Martinique agricole, made from fresh-pressed sugarcane juice under the island's AOC and bottled unsweetened at a full 55.5 percent. It takes the house's familiar dry, oak-led style and dials up the intensity.
Column distilled and matured in ex-bourbon wood, it pairs the grassy cane core with humid, resinous oak, vanilla and cinnamon, threaded with hints of red and tropical fruit. The palate is woody, spicy and peppery, the cane juice backbone still clear under the wood, finishing long on honey, oak and a vegetal echo. The strength gives it real grip, so a few drops of water open it nicely. An expressive, characterful cask for drinkers who already know and like the Trois Rivieres profile.
