Velier Caroni Millennium Magnum HTR 2000

Velier's Caroni Millennium Magnum 2000 is another bottling from the legendary closed Trinidad distillery, released in large magnum format. Caroni shut in 2003, and Velier's tropically aged, full proof releases of its rescued casks built the cult around its heavy rum. This 2000 vintage is 15 years old.

Matured at origin in ex-bourbon oak and bottled at 60%, it shows the classic industrial signature in full: rubber, menthol and tar on the nose, then a palate of rubber, menthol, tar and spice over dark fruit, roasted wood and chocolate, finishing dry with anise and a dirty, savoury edge. The balance and length mark it as a reference point for the heavy style, intense yet composed.
