From the Dutch bottler van Wees, a 9 year old Edradour, distilled in 2013, from cask 266, bottled at 58.9%, one of 672 bottles. Edradour is a Highland single malt from Perthshire, traditional and tiny, now Scotland's little gem. Its water comes from the Ben Vrackie springs in the hills above the distillery.

The spirit was distilled from unpeated malt in tiny copper stills and worm tubs, for the rich, oily make Edradour is known for. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the oily, full bodied spirit. In these extractive early years the oak gives vanillin as vanilla and oak lactones as coconut over the rich, oily spirit. Signatory's wide cask range gives the small distillery an unusual variety of finishes. The tiny stills and worm tubs give an oily spirit that takes the cask well. Long ageing turns the rich make towards dried fruit, fig and a soft spice.

At 58.9%, undiluted, it is deep and concentrated. Dried fruit, chocolate and a nutty oil, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. A dried fruit and a polished oak give it depth. The finish is rounded, fruity and gently spiced. This is Edradour, one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.
