A 13 year old Edradour from the distillery, at 48.2%. A rich, oily fruit over a creamy body. Founded in 1825, it keeps the old ways in its farm buildings. Signatory’s wide cask range gives it an unusual variety of finishes. Water comes from the Ben Vrackie springs above the distillery. This is the oily, rich malt of tiny Edradour.

Description
Edradour from the distillery, a 13 year old, from 2010, cask 1, at 48.2%. Edradour is a full bodied, oily Highland malt made on Ben Vrackie water at Pitlochry. It is one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland, long run by just two or three hands.
It was worked through Oregon pine washbacks and tiny stills for a rich, oily spirit, for a rich, nutty spirit with a waxy depth. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the rich, oily character to the fore. Integration folds eugenol (clove) and vanillin (vanilla) into the oily malt, the body fuller and creamier. Years in oak round the spirit, the dried fruit and chocolate deepening over the oily core. A 2018 expansion added a second still house, the production still small and traditional. Refill oak lets the rich, oily Edradour character lead the way. Maturation in the dunnage warehouses at Pitlochry is slow and steady.
At its natural 48.2% it is rich and full bodied. Dried fruit, nut and a soft chocolate, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A dried fruit and a polished oak give it depth. The finish is rounded, fruity and gently spiced. This is a creamy, nutty Highland single malt.
