Edradour from the distillery, a 35 year old, from 1989, cask 355, at 52.6%, 498 bottles in all. Edradour is a full bodied, oily Highland malt made on Ben Vrackie water at Pitlochry. It is one of the smallest traditional distilleries in Scotland, long run by just two or three hands.

Distilled slowly in the old farm stillhouse on Ben Vrackie water, for the rich, oily make Edradour is known for. Finished in an Oloroso cask, the wood building over the oily, full bodied spirit. In its ethereal years the malt is waxy and oxidative, faded esters and a touch of sotolon (maple, dried fig). The tiny stills and worm tubs give an oily spirit that takes the cask well. Active wood frames the rich fruit without overwhelming the oily Highland spirit. It was founded in 1825, growing out of an old farmers' cooperative in the glen above Pitlochry.

At its natural 52.6% it is rich and full bodied. Dried fruit, nut and a soft chocolate, with dried fruit, fig and walnut from the cask. It is rich and oily, the full bodied spirit shining through. The finish is rounded, fruity and gently spiced. This is the little gem of the Highlands at Pitlochry.
