Distilled in Sutherland 5 Years Old PST Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (Phil & Simon Thompson) is a blended malt Scotch from Phil & Simon Thompson. It vats malts from several distilleries, Clynelish lending its waxy Highland texture. The lost Brora distillery beside it, closed in 1983, was revived by Diageo in 2021.

Clynelish lends an oily, waxy Highland texture to the blend. A bourbon barrel held it, vanilla and a little coconut under the wax. Refill oak lets the famous Clynelish wax lead, lemon and honey beneath. Clynelish is unpeated, its character built on texture, citrus and coast rather than smoke. The clean, oily spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and honey over the wax. The distillery was built in 1967 next to the original Clynelish of 1819, which was renamed Brora and later closed. Two old Brora warehouses still stand on the site, a link to its silent neighbour.

At its natural 48.5% it is concentrated. A waxy, oily texture runs through it, with citrus, honey and a coastal lift. Soft citrus and a honeyed wax sit behind the cask. The finish is deep, waxy and maritime. A characterful blended malt Scotch.
