From G&P Purveyors of Fine Scotch Whisky Ltd comes this Teaninich, an 8 year old release from 2010, drawn from cask 714216 and bottled at 46%. Only 382 bottles were released. Teaninich, a large Highland distillery beside the River Averon at Alness, was established in 1817. There are no warehouses on site; the spirit is matured in Diageo's central stores.

Mashed through a mash filter for an ultra clear wort and distilled in fat copper stills, giving the fresh, green spirit at its heart. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, gentle American oak beneath the green fruit. At this age the spirit is fresh and green, cut grass and citrus to the fore. Sherry wood suits the light make, lending dried fruit and a nutty depth. Robert Innes Cameron, an Elgin blender, became sole owner in 1904. The Munro family ran the distillery through two generations before selling. The Cromarty Firth nearby is one of few UK waters home to bottlenose dolphins.

At 46% it is clean and fresh. The refill oak lending honey and vanilla runs under a clean, green fruitiness. Soft orchard fruit and grass sit behind the sweetness. Cut grass and citrus draw out the close. This is a fresh, oily Highland single malt.
