Single malt from the Speyside Distillery, a 9 year old, from 2008 from the distillery, at 58.2%. Light and fruity, showing orchard fruit over honeyed oak. The hand built malt of Drumguish. The screen home of Lagganmore. The work of one mason’s twenty years. Pretty, peaceful and small in scale. A delicate dram worth seeking out.

Description
This official Speyside Distillery single malt, aged 9 year old from 2008, drawn from cask 3140 and bottled at 58.2%. 300 bottles in all. The Speyside Distillery was built by hand on a former barley mill site at Tromie Mills, the most southerly Speyside distillery, and its entire production sits under a single roof. The first single malt, Drumguish, appeared in 1993, three years after the first spirit ran.
Distilled on River Tromie water in a tiny pair of pot stills, building the gentle Speyside style it is loved for. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, gentle American oak beneath the fruit. Still young, the malt is bright and fruity with a soft honey. The short stills give body, which slow running and a clean cut keep light. A long fermentation builds the fruity esters that mark the house style. Set in the Cairngorm foothills, it counts among Scotland's prettiest distilleries.
At cask strength 58.2% it is full bodied. Green apple and a gentle spice sit alongside soft vanilla and honey from the cask. It is fresh and clean, the fruity spirit shining through. It closes long, fruity and honeyed. This is the SPEY single malt from near Kingussie.
