Raasay Na Sia Single Cask Series 3 Years Old 2019 (61.6%)

A distillery release of Isle of Raasay from the Na Sia Single Cask Series, a 3 year old release, distilled in 2019, from cask 19/245 and bottled at 61.6%. A release of 247 bottles. Raasay is a young Hebridean distillery, the first ever to legally distil on the Isle of Raasay. The Italian built stills nod to the distillery's continental leanings in cask choice.

Distilled in Italian built copper stills, a lantern wash still and a swan neck spirit still, the make carried a blackberry fruit from its long fermentation. It was matured in ex-Bourbon American oak, lending vanilla and baking spice. At this young age the fruit is vivid and the cask influence bold and bright. Virgin oak and first fill casks layer vanilla and spice over the bright distillate. Every bottle is natural in colour and free of chill filtration. The Na Sia single casks let drinkers taste each thread of the six cask recipe.

Bottled at a cask strength 61.6%, it is intense. The cask lends vanilla, baking spice and a honeyed sweetness over a gentle wisp of peat. The texture is bright and juicy, the fruit lifted by the cask. The finish is deep, spiced and rounded. This is the first legal single malt of the Isle of Raasay.
