Description
Built in 1871 near the fishing port of Buckie, Inchgower makes a briny, nutty malt that has long been a backbone of Bell's. This is one of Inchgower's uncommon official bottlings, released at 12 years old. It was released for Poland.
The distillery's spirit is built for body rather than elegance, nutty and waxy with a coastal salt note unusual for Speyside. This bottling matured in an ex-Bourbon cask.
Bottled at 43%, American oak from the ex-Bourbon cask supplies vanilla and coconut, with eugenol adding a touch of clove. At 12 years the wood and the salty, nutty spirit are roughly in balance.
