Description
An 11 year old single cask Ardmore released by Blackadder in 2021 under the Raw Cask range, distilled in 2010 and bottled at 60.1% natural strength. Blackadder operates from Sweden with Raw Cask as their signature range, bottled without filtration and including cask sediment for unfiltered delivery. Cask #803497 sits in a 2010 Blackadder Raw Cask cluster alongside the bottler's #802995 and #803499 releases, all from consecutive cask numbers acquired through a common broker channel. The tight 90 bottle outturn suggests this cask was drawn late or selected from a partial fill remainder. Bottled for the European market. The 2010 vintage falls in the early Beam Global ownership period at Kennethmont.
Filled at 63.5% into a single ex Bourbon refill American oak cask in 2010, the spirit matured at Kennethmont under the post 2001 steam heating regime. Eleven years brought the strength to 60.1%, indicating dry warehouse conditions.
Raw Cask format delivers concentrated distillery character with cask sediment intact. Cis whisky lactone reads as coconut and pine, vanillin from oak lignin shows as light custard, with sediment adding texture and depth. Steam era distillate sits prominently at the centre with apple and pear esters from the Kerry yeast component. The 12 to 14 ppm peat phenols read as heather smoke, dry leaf and earthy phenolic at moderate integrated intensity. Honeyed barley closes a warm long finish at full strength.
