A soft Guyanese sipper from the XM house, seven years old at an easy 40 percent, leaning fruity and frankly sweet with a sherry edge, light oily body and a short alcoholic warmth that suits a glass over cola.
Description
XM VXO is an entry aged Demerara from Guyana, blended and bottled by the XM brand and rested for seven years before release at a gentle 40 percent. It sits at the approachable end of the Guyanese spectrum, built for easy drinking rather than full still intensity, and earns a little more depth than its age and strength might suggest.
Drawn from molasses distillate and finished in sherry wood, it noses sweet and lightly fruity with a clear sherry note over soft alcohol. The palate is light and oily, a touch sweet, with a brief woody finish that turns warm and a little raw. This reads as a rounded, sweet style rather than a dry sipper, so it shows best long, poured over ice or mixed with cola as an unfussy everyday Demerara.
