Description
Uncle Val's gins grew out of Zio Valerio's love of his Tuscan garden, where the botanicals on the still were the same ones that flavoured his cooking. The Peppered expression takes that idea to its boldest extreme, distilled from juniper, red paprika, black pepper and allspice, gluten-free and made without artificial flavouring, colour or additives. The charred, savoury character is no accident; it is the kitchen translated into a glass.
The nose opens on black peppercorns and a hint of roasted red pepper. The palate is all warmth: strong pepper up front, soft juniper behind it, roasted capsicum and a faint saltiness, closing long and peppery. It makes a striking, savoury G&T with a twist of lemon and a few cracks of black pepper, or carries a bold Dirty Martini with confidence.
