A sweetened pineapple rum that hits candy sweet up front before a sharper pineapple bite, column distilled from molasses with three years in ex bourbon, bottled at 37.5%, a fruity mixer rather than a neat pour.
Description
Dead Man's Fingers Pineapple is a flavoured, sweetened rum from The Rum & Crab Shack, built on a three year, ex bourbon aged molasses base and dressed up with bright pineapple at a low 37.5%. It is unapologetically a flavoured bottling, leaning on fruit and sugar rather than the spirit underneath.
The aroma is candied and pineapple led. The palate opens very sweet, almost like sweets, before the sharper acidity of pineapple cuts through toward the end. This is firmly a mixing rum, working best alongside lemonade, lime soda or coconut water, and it does not pretend to be a sipper. Treated as a fruity component for casual long drinks it does its job, so long as the sweetness is welcome.
