The Macallan Double Cask 30 Years Old was introduced in 2021 as a distinguished addition to The Macallan’s Double Cask range. This expression embodies the rich depth of flavor and complex character that defines the Double Cask profile. It is crafted from a careful balance of European oak from Spain and France and American oak from Ohio, Missouri, and Kentucky. These casks are sent to Jerez, Spain, where they are seasoned with sherry for up to 18 months before being filled with new-make spirit at The Macallan Estate in Speyside. After 30 years of aging, the Whisky Mastery Team selects the perfect blend from these casks to create this luxurious single malt.

The Double Cask 30 Years Old presents a rich sensory experience, with aromas of fresh honeycomb, sweet toffee, red apple, fig, and vanilla pod. The palate delivers a smooth harmony of cinnamon, ginger, Madagascan vanilla, dried fruits, and oak, culminating in a finish of sweet oak, soft spice, and toffee. To celebrate this release, The Macallan collaborated with American artist Erik Madigan Heck, who captured the whisky's essence through a series of photographic compositions inspired by the natural beauty of The Macallan Estate.
