A distillery bottling of Speyburn, aged 15 year old and bottled at 46%. Established in 1897 opposite Glen Grant near Rothes, Speyburn is a classic Speyside single malt. It was the first Scottish distillery fitted with drum maltings, which still stand on site.

It was drawn off the stills into worm tubs, the old way of condensing, for a light, floral spirit with a worm tub weight. Ex-Bourbon casks held the spirit, soft oak that lets the fruit lead. Past a decade the fruit deepens into honey, dried fruit and a soft spice. The cool Speyside climate gives a slow, even maturation over many years. Worm tub condensers are still used, lending the make a rounded, fragrant weight. The first spirit ran in a December snowstorm in 1897, to date the fillings to the Diamond Jubilee. Water is drawn from the Granty Burn, a clear tributary of the Spey. Inver House runs Speyburn alongside Old Pulteney, Balblair and anCnoc.

Bottled at 46%, it is rounded. A gentle vanilla and coconut from the wood, with pear, honey and a fragrant lift. The texture is rounded and soft, the fruit lifted by honey. The finish runs fresh, soft and fragrant. This is the fresh Speyside malt of the Glen of Rothes.
