Savanna Lontan Grand Arome Blanc 60th Anniversary LMDW

Savanna has worked on Réunion since 1870 and runs several rum families, including the famously funky high-ester Grand Arôme. This 60th Anniversary bottling for La Maison du Whisky comes from fresh sugar cane juice and lands at an intense 57%, built for experienced palates that chase the savoury extreme.

The ester load is enormous and steers the spirit well away from sweet fruit. The nose is all olive, floral lift, fermented funk and green vegetal notes, while the palate piles on brine, olive and a clear iodine streak. The finish turns mineral and umami with a thread of honey holding it together. Bottled without dosage in the cane juice tradition, this is medicinal, salty and uncompromising, balanced enough for slow neat sipping yet wild enough to transform a bold cocktail.
