Description
Saint Maurice La Belle Cabresse is a white cane-juice rum from the Saint Maurice distillery in French Guiana, the last distillery still operating in the territory, bottled at 50%. Outside the French AOC system, it is made from fresh-pressed cane juice in the agricole spirit, putting the cane front and centre.
Unaged and lively, it leads with fresh sugarcane, lemon and herbal notes, then a floral, salty-mineral edge that gives it real personality. The palate is snappy and dry, with lime, sugarcane and a peppery, saline finish. Distilled to keep the vegetal cane character intact, it is aromatic and flattering for an unaged white, and while it can be sipped neat by fans of the style, it is most at home powering a fresh, citrusy Ti Punch, offering good value for the character on show.
