Description
Single malt Royal Brackla, an independent Campbeltown Whisky Company Ltd bottling, an 11 year old Highland malt from 2014 and bottled at 57.2%. Only 288 bottles were released. Royal Brackla was opened in 1812 near Nairn, on the Cawdor Estate; it became the first Scotch granted a royal warrant, by William IV in 1833. It was the first Scotch whisky to hold a royal warrant, renewed by Queen Victoria in 1838.
The spirit was run through lamp glass spirit stills for a clean, fruity spirit, to build a fragrant, orchard fruit character. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood adding a light honeyed sweetness. At this age the spirit is fresh and fruity, the orchard fruit and citrus bright. A long fermentation of up to 110 hours builds the fruity esters at the heart of the spirit. A fruity, lightly spiced make sits at the heart of every bottling. Cawdor Burn water and tall stills shape a clean, elegant spirit.
Bottled at a cask strength 57.2%, it is rich. A fruity, honeyed elegance meet soft vanilla and honey from the cask. Beneath it run honey, apple and a warm spice. Orchard fruit and honey draw out the close. This is an elegant, fruity Highland single malt.
