Riviere du Mat Reserve Speciale 6 ans is an agricole-style rum from Reunion, made by the Riviere du Mat distillery from fresh sugar-cane juice. Reunion sits outside the protected agricole appellation, so this is cane-juice rum in character rather than an AOC bottling, given six years of maturation and held at a gentle 42%.

The creole column keeps the green, grassy cane core intact, while time in ex-bourbon oak adds a woody, dried-fruit layer. Expect a fruity, floral nose of apricot and orange, an earthier palate brushed with grapefruit and grass, and a finish of woody, smoky dried fruit.
